Please assist my daughter born with IV hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Low Vision and who is non verbal gain the needed coordination to ride with her big sister and her peers.

Emily was born at 36 weeks August 1, 2010 with grade IV hydrocephalus....We were initially told by a group of six doctors not to expect much "IF" Emily survived at all and if she did not to expect much...basically saying she'd be in a limp rag...
She had a shunt placed at four months of age....revised at 23 months of age...perscription eye wear at three months...and even though we knew it....she was officially diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 17 months...
She was fitted for her first set of AFO's at 15 months....Emily has low vision and is non-verbal

We would really like to get Emily this bike. This is a special bike that is made for children like Emily. It has special features to make riding possible for her. With the help of this bike, not only will Emily be able to build muscles and improve balance, but it will give her a level of independence and confidence that she could not get without it. These bikes are not covered in medical plans, and our family struggles with having to pay for medications and therapies. Without help, this bike will only be a dream. Emily will soon outgrow the small trike she has been using. We are hoping to raise enough to buy the bike before she is left with this mobility. Every dollar counts, no amount is too small! Thank you in advance for your help!

Please help Emily RIDE like her peers!!!!

http://www.gofundme.com/b7o7fc

GO FUND ME!!!

This is the bike of Emily's dreams so that she can ride like everyone else

As she grows; this little trike does not grow with her
and in a short while she will be receiving a wheelchair
So that she will be able to enjoy long walks
because a stroller now does not fit

So many programs Emily has been assisted by;
The Variety Club
(the children's charity)
and
the At Home Program
(a provincially funded program)
British Columbia

But they have just provided the major medical
Eye Glasses
(from aged 4 months)
leg AFO's
wheelchair
partial prescriptions
(some of Emily's medicines are out of pocket)
and if we don't have the resources
unfortunately
  (she has gone without)
prolonged seizure
and
migraine medicines

GO FUND ME ---GIVING EMILY AT LITTLE STEP UP IN LIFE

Here is Emily's GOFUNDME account

It has definitely been a journey GOD is guiding us through...in all of her four years

SHE IS ENJOYING EVERY MOMENT

It looks as though in the long term, Emily will be in line for a touch ipad for communication, but too it looks by the way the public school system is getting restructured...she will more than likely LOST IN THE SYSTEM....one of the major reasons we have chosen for the short term (financial) Abbotsford Christian School (IF) we can see our way clear GOD WILLING both she and Ellie with enjoy the advantages of Abbotsford Christian. My fear that in the public system more than the private she with be lacking the communication to make friends and be bullied because of it...and won't advance

Two Months of Calm

OK, so it had been two months since the smothering accusations of our not too friendly across the hall neighbours, which threatened us with eviction if a solution could not be found for the volume of noise created by myself vocalizing instructions toward Emily (she's three, so a little loud talking is normal, but with Emily that is increased some ) as well as her moving about the apartment...and hallway corridor

as if their young child of six months was or would be any quieter, but....saving those comments for another day.....

WHAT HAS BEEN SINCE....
We are still here after two formal  pre-eviction letters and one property management conversation; mind you...we didn't take those accusations lying down either as we called in the local media Global BC and reporter Elaine Yong who we saw as the perfect person for publicly addressing our story.
She has a very personal story to tell as well.....as her daughter; Addison was found to have a serious heart condition who was in need of a heart transplant at not even a month old....
So after doing the story which was widely received with mostly positive comments, we were live celebrities of the day.....
Though the hub-bub of celebrity has subsided, we are still on the top of many a mind...."How are things going" is their main inquiry.

"Good" is our response...Even though we only live a stride apart...we've seemed to keep our distance....

Since then, Emily is almost finished her first year of pre-school (with no physical personal aid support)  challenging the teachers some..... the teacher (who was majoring in  physio -therapy as well as child care and who had the most understanding and compassion when it came to Emily's individual needs unfortunately moved with her paramedic finance to northern British Columbia.....Th-ems the luck!!!!

On to bigger and better things; pre-kindergarten at Abbotsford Christian School Tuesday and Thursday afternoons while her older sister, Ellie-Marie will be in kindergarten full days Tuesday and Thursdays....so if there are issues surrounding someone aiding Emily, I will be there!

To get Emily ready even further she has been fitted for a paediatric wheelchair like this one and her occupational therapist has suggested her further aiding Emily

Mobility Issues and...

This is where she find herself; packing if to go away...
Life has been a little rough around the edges, with our fight to stay where we are....A ground floor suite where one would think that there wouldn't be an issue and yet one has seemed to find us...
Smoothed over we hope; thanks to Global BC news and the outpouring of community support.

A little girl with mobility and vocalization issues; just wanting to be; a little girl.

Right now we have come to a place where, we had posted this to our door before everything blew out of proportion.

And with that; I have written Emily's physiotherapist as to the direction we should go...

Realistic Expectations???

Some questions never seem to escape my mind.....such has been Emily's long term mobility issues....requiring a (walker/stroller/wheelchair)

Right now, we have been having some serious in house discussion over this issue.....(did you see the article on Global news a week or so back??)  If not, we had been having some complaint from our across the hall neighbour over Emily's mobility noise, that was until I brought it to the attention of the media; this to save our tenancy.

Yes. in the space of two months since these people had become our neighbours this had become an eviction issue for us with two threatening notices in the space of not even six weeks.

At home, Emily either bum scoots or pushes a small stool around the kitchen, but when we are out and about it is either the walker or a stroller.

What is your feel, as I am to the belief that for longer periods out and because Emily tires easily a stroller or wheelchair of some kind would be the better?

In saying, we have gone through a number of strollers in her three and a half years. and though we have tried to go after durability....her current stroller is too falling apart as it can not withstand; either her weight (40+) or the day to day grind....

We are always on the lookout for strollers...It's kind of funny, but every time we are cruising the strollers isles of Wal-Mart or...Emily points and gestures as to which would be the perfect one.

The one we have our eye one now is a jogger stroller, but in saying, Emily has outlasted all, so the money we have spent for quality is; where does the money drain stop??

Your thoughts. ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because along with the right walker, we feel that Emily will need the right fit in other mobility equipment???

Thanks;

When Does Harassment Stop

Another complaint (leading to our eviction) SURE PRAY NOT!!!!!
OUR (MY) RESPONCE
To whom it may Concern @ Bay west Management
We the tenants of suite #104 who are being accused by an unnamed source of loud and unruly noises must therefore understand our side of the argument.
We understand that we occupy the only suite that has linoleum in it entryway; maybe this is a contributing factor as to the noise level.
We have ourselves and our two daughters who are aged 5 and 3 ½, however our youngest daughter has many a challenge as she is non-verbal and was born with hydrocephalus (water on the brain,) epilepsy and cerebral palsy and does not walk unaided.
She does however drag a small kitchen stool and sometimes a chair around the suite; mainly in the kitchen which again is linoleum. So at times very loud.
We have tried to keep our daughters voices down as well as our own, but again there too has to be some level of understanding.
We; Michael and I are ourselves physically challenged; as both of us have only the full use of our left hands. He; born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy and I was struck by a car in 1973 when I was aged 5.
We have tried and will here on continue try and abide by Bay west and Birchwood Manor policy of conduct.
To our understanding, we live alongside some wonderful neighbors of varying ages; again what a wonderful (community) to be a part of.
Sincerely

WROTE GLOBAL BC NEWS;

I did something I thought I'd never do; bring further "public" attention to our situation------by welcoming Global BC into the conversation as I emailed Chris Gailus

A Global camera man was at our home Friday to introduce himself readying us for Monday. A reporter and the story

DRAUMA PART TWO
In your opinion; what should we do? Cancel; Global News, as we have finally been introduced to our accusers.... Seemingly "nice people" with a 4ish month old baby. Understandingly, they were just trying to look out for their baby, but obviously going about things the wrong way after all of their accusations, only been introduced now after everything?
I had a heated discussion with the manager prompting our face to face, but why should it have come to that?? If the people across from us felt that we were being too loud then they should have come to our door first rather than having us being handed these notices pre:eviction.
As our accusers say; that when we get up and going in the morning, he too is just leaving for work but the little girls is going to sleep....However we are still worried about it eventually coming back to bite us resulting in our eventual eviction???
This x-RCMP officer says that he has a good relationship with Global BC personal.so to cancel the news crew, so would want to tell his side of the story...but to us something does not add up here....so we hope in the end the joke isn't on us!!! ....Having an almost eviction notice at our door was a bit excessive... just hope it doesn't cost us in the end??
What would we do and where would we go, as we are on a limited disability income to start with, and who only can afford so much..
